William Edward McClanahan

William Edward McClanahan, 47, of Du Quoin, passed away at 9:38 p.m., Friday, June 6, 2008 at his residence.

William had worked as a leadman at Penn Aluminum in Murphysboro.  He was of the Catholic Faith.  He was a member and past Worthy President of the Du Quoin Eagles Lodge and a member of the Du Quoin VFW.  He was a US Navy veteran serving from 1978 to 1981.

He was born June 3, 1961 at Kankakee, the son of William E. and Nancy Carol (Cook) McClanahan.

He married the former Mary Catherine Tripp on February 10, 1995 at Du Quoin, and she survives.

He is survived by his wife Cathi of Du Quoin, his mother- Nancy McClanahan of Du Quoin, four children- Billy McClanahan, Brett McClanahan and wife Lechell, Bonnie McClanahan and Chase McClanahan all of Du Quoin, step son- Josh Hackleman and wife Jamie of Du Quoin, three brothers- Robert McClanahan of Dowell, John Patrick McClanahan of Roswell, Ga., Tommy Joe McClanahan of Du Quoin, sister- Carol Jean Walters of Du Quoin, four grandchildren- Jonothan Hackleman, Evan Wade McClanahan, Kansas McClanahan and Nevaeh McClanahan, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister- Mary Ann McClanahan.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Gerald Wright officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
